The Holler!

The Holler!
Percussionist for The Holler!, Josh Vogeler, summed up The Holler!’s journey through Americana with his travelling song “Good People Strange Places.”  10 years of sonic wanderlust has seen the band through many forms, entertaining audiences with a bluegrassy sound, rock n’ roll personality and passionate vocals delivered with mountain top exclamation.  Four relentless tone chasers explore the canyons of influence with child-like eyes and wonder as their roots in acoustic music and dramatic lyricism grow stronger.  The Holler! is a quartet of prolific Fort Collins songwriters providing a bottomless cup of original repertoire led by mandolin obsessed songsmith Michael Kirkpatrick, who’s voice resonates with a evangelical theatrics and gratitude.  Core instrumentation includes mandolin, guitar, bass and drums with all four members singing their guts out.  The Holler! has also employed sitar, keyboards, tuba, lap steel, electric guitar and ethnic percussion into their evolving acoustic folk-rock format.   The band describes their sound as “folk music with no boundaries”, while fans simply refer to The Holler!’s feel as “Folkadelic.”  With the recent addition of Brad Poto on bass guitar, The Holler!’s energetic live show has been fortified with a groove that induces movement of body and mind.  Expect to hear bombastic harmonies from these 4 baritones, big tree/small axe mandolin chops and some of the tastiest licks this side of Garciaville by hot-shot guitar slinger Brian Adams. Their repertoire artistically celebrates reverence for nature, the exploration of human consciousness, and their passion for festive community gatherings while echoing the Colorado landscape the Holler! calls home.  In addition to original music, The Holler! has fun twisting up songs by artists that move them such as: Led Zeppelin, Bjork, The Grateful Dead, Ween, Roger McGuinn, Taj Mahal, The Highwaymen, and Darrell Scott. They have a charismatic ability to connect with a diverse demographic of music lovers, shaking up dance floors, elevating love frequencies, and having lots of fun along the way!  Visit The Holler!'s official website.
